Always dug those. They were those super-exotic cars that I was so excited to see the first time I went to Germany. Europe had all the cool stuff in the 90s, compared to the blandmobiles we had in the US.

Yet all it was, was a Ford Fiesta with a coupe body.
Friend had one. It was a Fiesta dashboard, etc... and drove like a Fiesta.
Late they made a performance version either based on the rally version or homologated to make a rally version by having to make so many road going cars to then be able to have a rally version.
From road to rally.

I know! But forbidden fruit is always the sweetest. All we had were the US Escort (not at all cool) and square-ass Hondas and Toyotas.
This looked like the future I wanted.

I came across one of these while
browsing Japanese import sites yesterday
and thought “that’d be cool and unique to import”. Then I remembered they were a 90s economy “sporty” car from England and hence have 123hp and a 9.2s 0-60 and went back to looking at WRXs...
